FPDAM AeroCAD

FPDAM AeroCAD is part of the FPDAM family and can be used when not all the flight procedure design functions are necessary for a particular designer

AeroCAD allows administrative functions and some design functions (geodesic calculations, ATS data visualisation etc). It is used when the basic FPDAM functions are needed within the graphic environment (e.g. installation of EMACS, SAPET, Radar Data Viewer and SSA Encoder).


Administrative Functions


  • Database connectivity: the connection to the FPDAM aeronautical database is available either from the CAD/GIS environment or from the main window FPDAM window
  • Database administration functions: the windows front end to the database is executed from the standard FPDAM main menu
  • Project and User Management: from the standard FPDAM main menu, users, projects and workspaces can be managed
  • Connection to GIS and CAD engines: in the same way as the complete version of FPDAM, the graphic environment can be executed from the main menu
  • Terrain data and maps management: vector contour levels, digital terrain models (grid), raster images are handles for display and database insert/update/delete operations
  • Magnetic declination/variation management 

Design Functions

Some of the PDAM design functions are available from the graphic GIS/CAD environment

  • Basic Instruments: straight tracks, DME tracks turns, wind spirals
  • General utilities: fixes, radials, DME arcs, splay, quick information between graphic elements
  • Fix and Waypoints utilities: overheading navaid fixes. intersecting fixes, radar fixes, turning points etc
  • Geodesic utilities: geodesic radials, fixes, arcs, distance etc
  • Surface constructors: clearance surfaces (ILS OAS, Basic ILS, OIS, OCS, PAPI, CRM analysis)
