IDS are a leader in the field of aeronautical information and software solutions. We specialise in the development and support of software solutions for the Aeronavigation industry. Our software delivers the complete life cycle of Aeronautical Information Publication data in the form of aeronautical charts and AIP publications supported by complex databases. Located in the northern side of Brisbane, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated GIS specialist to join our expanding team! Due to growth and project demands, we currently require someone who will service our customers with the various aeronavigational software products we offer. The ideal candidate will have a background in graphical information systems or aero-navigation and will have highly developed skills in the charting area.

Full product training will be supplied for the successful candidate.

Your main responsibilities in this role will include:

• Supporting customers in creating, updating and generating paper and electronic based aeronautical charts and publications
• Working with temporal aeronautical databases
• Automated aeronautical publication production
• Support, update and maintain existing GIS database
• Conduct presentations and training sessions for software applications
• Assist in the development of aeronautical chart software systems
• Software testing and documentation
• Quality checking

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A bachelor degree or higher with a good solid understanding of the Geospatial concepts, charting and databases.
• 1-5 years experience with spatial technologies
• Experience in the aeronautical/aeronavigation field will be an advantage
• Strong communication skills
• Experience in using and configuring spatial systems such as Bentley Microstation ,Intergraph Geomedia, Google Earth, or similar
• High level of initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
• The role requires extensive travelling both interstate and overseas
