An integrated system to acquire, validate and collect all aerodrome survey data according to ICAO Annex 15 (AMD 33 and 34).
IDS E-TOD is composed by three main blocks:
A range of tools are available to administrate all terrain and obstacles data, according to survey data types and activities to perform.
Terrain models (DTM, DSM), orthophotos, raster files, 3-D vectorial maps and raw surveyed data lists are imported into the archive. The Survey Data Manager allows organisation of all documents in "Families", where each family represents document types and associated classification data, or metadata.
E-TOD has version-ing capabilities where modifications of documents are tracked and new versions are automatically produced, which can be compared to previous versions in the Document History.
The CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) code is automatically computed to protect all documents of a family and to ensure data integrity.
All data to be put into the Survey Catalogue undergo several validation checks before final storage. If the data doesn't satisfy quality requirements they are not imported and another data refining process is required.
Loading all checked data into the Aerodrome Survey DB and the Obstacle DB grants survey and obstacles data maintenance according to Annex 15 (AMD 33 and 34). Complex metadata list with a high degree of flexibility and configuring can be managed. The use of default values ensures total compliancy with ICAO requirements.
The Survey Data Manager produces reports containing the entire list of operations carried out in the catalogue, in the Aerodrome Survey DB and in the Obstacle DB.
The Survey Data Analyser allows the users to review the input data and to use the ICAO Annex 4 and 14 surfaces construction for obstacles interference evaluations, which gives feedback to the Terrain and Obstacle database.
A procedure, executed during the data loading phase, informs the user when surveyed data have similarities with other surveys already present in the DB. The system allows the user to choose the appropriate action: update, ignore or insert the ambiguous element. To support the user in solving the ambiguities the Survey Data Manager provides functionalities to visualise the suspicious elements in the graphic environment.
