SSA Encoder allows the coding of SID, STAR and Approach procedures by assigning all the attributes needed by ARINC coding.
AIS organisations must guarantee the quality of the data distributed during flight planning and procedure design validation. The SSA data can be transferred to other data providers via ARINC files or saved into the IDS AERODB.

The development of RNAV Instrument Flight Procedures is made up of a series of steps from the origination of data (i.e. surveys) to the navigation database coding and charting for final publication.
SSA Encoder is an add-on package to IDS’s FPDAM (Flight Procedure Design and Airspace Management) and manages the last step of uploading the data into the on-board navigation database. Quality control procedures must be present in each step to ensure the necessary levels of accuracy and integrity in the final distributed data.
The SSA Encoder is used to describe the procedure in an unambiguous fashion. It guides the designer through the ARINC coding of the SSA data associated with a procedure. Waypoints that are linked to the procedure, OCA/OCH values, MSA and SSA supplementary data tables can be maintained at the same time with the SSA Encoder interface.
SSA Encoder is very useful for CAA, ANSP departments and aircraft companies which are responsible for:
